Crystal D. McLean is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina. She is an alumnus of Fayetteville State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Banking and Finance.

With over 15 years of experience in the finance industry, Crystal has dedicated her career to promoting financial literacy and empowering individuals to develop healthy money habits.

Currently serving as the President/Founder of Money Box Academy Inc. nonprofit & Crystal Clear Consulting Group, Crystal ensures the deployment of capital to small businesses, promoting economic empowerment within her community as well as educating others. Crystal’s passion for educating youth about financial literacy led her to teach over 4,000 children both virtually and in-person. She has conducted workshops, seminars, and classes on money management for children, adults, and communities, totaling over 100 engagements and has collaborated with more than 30 organizations, schools, universities, and churches to deliver impactful lessons on money management.

Crystal has received many prestigious awards over the years including Mentor of the Year, Woman of the Year award, and Community Impact Leader of the Year from various organizations. These notable accolades acknowledge her exemplary dedication to guiding and inspiring others through mentorship and financial education. In addition to her teaching and mentoring endeavors, Crystal is also an accomplished author. She has authored two international best-selling financial literacy children’s books, “Harmoney & the Empty Piggybank” and “No No Sonny, Save That Money.” Crystal has not stopped with children’s books, but has released a few books to empower adults “10 Strategies to Eliminate Debt Quickly” and “The Ultimate Love Letter: A Legacy Planning Guide to strengthen families and communities.

Crystal’s personal experience as a single mother inspired her to be resourceful and strategic with her finances, fueling her desire to assist others on their financial journey. Now as a wife and Youth Pastor alongside her husband, Brandon McLean, Crystal seeks to inspire youth not only financially but also spiritually. Crystal’s ultimate goal is to empower individuals to apply the financial tools and knowledge they acquire. With a mission to make a lasting difference for her generation and future generations, she continues to make significant strides in promoting financial literacy and creating a financially secure future for all.
